Fried Fish
Fried fish is fish that has been fried, but more specifically, battered, then fried. The fish within the batter is normally cod or haddock, with cod being the most common. Fried fish is most popular in the United Kingdom, but gets pretty good traction in the Southern United States as well.
Taste
Fried fish tastes great. It pairs best with malt vinegar or tartar sauce. It’s normally paired with fries to create fish and chips. Since fried fish is covered in batter, it can easily resemble other fried things. This has led to the development of a popular pub game known as “Guess what it isn’t”.
Fried Fish became an official snack on June 19th 2012.
