Waffles
Waffles are fancy pancakes, because they originated in Europe. They are most commonly found in the United States and Belgium, with the latter offering more variations. A popular United States restaurant/diner chain owes its namesake to this food.
Taste
Waffles taste great. Their most common pairing is with powdered sugar and/or syrup. Aside from their respectable flavor, waffles sport a dynamic gridded pattern that resembles some kind of futuristic data–like structure.
Waffles became an official snack on April 28th 2012.
