Turnip
Turnip is a bulb–shaped root vegetable. It has experienced a very steady reputation as an unpopular food, but did achieve a small amount of attention in the early 1990s when it was featured in a video game that offered players a simulation of picking one out of the ground and throwing it. “Now let’s all celebrate with a cool glass of turnip juice” is a popular quote in the United States.
Taste
Turnip requires a lot of preparation before it reaches any level worth of ingestion, but can be a sound investment when it’s complete. Aside from being good, turnip is interesting in that it’s simply not eaten that frequently.
Turnip became an official snack on May 10th 2012.
