Scone
Scone is a type of bread that’s eaten mostly in the United Kingdom. It’s made in a variety of ways depending on the region, but always retains the same name (leading to much confusion). A scone from the United Kingdom is more like an American biscuit, which requires butter and/or jelly to make enjoyable. In America, scone is generally a bit softer, sweeter, and often has a few fruits mixed in. Scone is made in batches, which is to say that you produce many ‘scones’ after baking, as opposed to some breads which only result in a single loaf. Socially, nothing says “thank you” more sincerely than a fresh–baked (or recently–baked) scone.
Taste
Despite its many varieties (and room for error), scone is always a safe choice for eating enjoyment. As with most sweet breads, it is very much at home with coffee.
