Horseradish
Although horseradish is a kind of plant, the word refers to that plant’s root, which gets made into a condiment. It is most popular in the United Kingdom, because its color resembles their landscape. It is unknown why the food has the word “horse” in it, as the animal of that name has never tasted it.
Taste
Horseradish is good. It’s spicy, and is either served alone, or is mixed with mayonnaise to create a more spreadable consistency.
Horseradish became an official snack on June 15th 2012.
