Fuyu Persimmon
Persimmons are most popular throughout Japan. They are a brilliant orange color (when ripe), grow on trees, and are generally seedless. They look like miniature pumpkins, and are available for a limited time during the fall season.
Taste
Persimmon tastes excellent. If pumpkins were smaller, spiced with cinnamon, and fully edible, they would be a persimmon. One of its greatest traits is that it can be eaten in haste, as it has no seeds and offers an edible skin.
Fuyu Persimmon became an official snack on April 21st 2012.
